All ESL jobs across Korea are going fast!
Why?
With the recession, many schools have down sized their number of foreign teachers so there are less positions available.
Also many current teachers are renewing their contracts because they fear they won’t get a job back home because of the bad economic conditions.
If you are looking for a job in Korea, it is best to apply ASAP or you might be out of luck.
It is not a total panic because we do hire every month, it is just jobs are a bit more competitive now.
What are some tips for getting a job?
Make sure you prepare all of your documents ASAP.
You will need:
- passport
- original diploma (university)
- 3 sets of university transcripts (sealed and stamped)
- criminal record check with apostille stamp (If you are from Canada, you won’t need an apostille stamp – just get your CRC notarized at the Korean embassy)
The reason why you should have all of your documents prepared is that there are many last minute positions that come up. If you have all of your documents ready, you will have a good chance of getting selected for a position.
Also at this time, it might be better to be flexible on location. You will have a greater change of getting a job.
Remember if this is your first time teaching in Korea, you should apply from your own country.
